Organisations
There are a lot of misconceptions surrounding counselling, it is often viewed as a place that people go when they feel they are losing their mind or have suffered a life changing event such as death or trauma. Counselling is able to support in these situations, but is also about providing a safe space for a person to go when they have a lot going on in their minds/lives and need some time to make sense of it. We all face tough situations every day and normally we manage just fine, however there are times when life can get too much and our mind and body tell us that they are struggling to understand and can’t quite process what has happened. This is where counselling can help, as you have a space, where you can sit uninterrupted to try to make sense of your world, and the therapist is there to provide support, not answers (although when a counsellor and a client work together, answers are often found).
Key Principles
CounsellingWorx is founded upon these key principles.
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?
Government research has shown that positive employee wellbeing results in a more productive workplace. Stress and low mental health among employees can dramatically affect an organisation in terms of long term sick and employees not fulfilling their roles. The result of this can mean that, for some employees, work becomes a 'place' that is associated with feeling out of control and anxious which can often contribute to long term mental health conditions such as depression.
CounsellingWorx are able to offer CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to work with individuals to identify sources of stress and low mental health and implement strategies and tools that will help improve employee wellbeing.
Benefits of CBT for businesses
CBT is a tried and tested method of psychotherapy which recognises that a person’s thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviour and body are all connected. If we are able to change one of these areas, for example our thoughts, then all the other areas will automatically be altered. CBT works to identify problematic thoughts and behaviour patterns, and strategies are introduced to help create a more balanced way of thinking. These strategies can be used effectively long after therapy has finished.
In addition to CBT, our sister company CoachingWorx can provide coaching solutions for your employees, please visit CoachingWorx for more information.
